Nairobi is the capital and largest city of Kenya
Nairobi is the most populous city in East Africa, with a current estimated population of about 3 million. Nairobi is currently the 13th largest city in Africa.
Nairobi is not a prime tourist destination, but it does have several tourist attractions. The most famous is the Nairobi National Park. The national park is unique, in being the only game-reserve of this nature to border a capital city, or city of this size. The park contains many animals including lions, giraffes, and black rhinos. The park is home to over 400 species of bird. The Nairobi safari walk is a major attraction to the Nairobi national park as it offers a rare on-foot experience of the animals.
Nairobi is home to several Museums, Sites and Monuments. The Nairobi National Museum is the country's National Museum and largest in the city. It houses a large collection of artifacts portraying Kenya's rich heritage through History, Nature, Culture and Contemporary Art. It also includes the full remains of a homo erectus. Other prominent museums include the Nairobi Gallery, Nairobi Railway Museum and the Karen Blixen Museum. Uhuru Gardens, a national monument and the largest memorial park in Kenya, is also the place where the first Kenyan flag was raised at independence.
Nairobi is nicknamed the Safari Capital of the World, and has many spectacular hotels to cater for safari-bound tourists. Five star hotels in Nairobi include the Nairobi Serena, Laico Regency (formerly Grand Regency), Windsor (Karen), Holiday Inn, East African Safari Club (Lilian Towers), The Stanley Hotel, Safari Park & Casino, InterContinental, Panari Hotel, Hilton, and the Norfolk Hotel.
Nairobi is also home to the largest ice rink in Africa: the Solar Ice Rink at the Panari Sky Centre.
The Nairobi Java House is a popular chain of restaurants with multiple branches located around the city including one at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
Other notable sites include Jomo Kenyatta's mausoleum, Kenya National Theatre and the Kenya National Archives. Art galleries in Nairobi include the Rahimtulla Museum of Modern Art (Ramoma) and the Mizizi Arts Centre.
Definitely, Kenya is a very nice place for tourism.

The Emir's Palace at Kano, Nigeria was said to be built in the fifteenth century by Sarkin Rumfa. It is a major tourist destination in Northern Nigeria. The 33-acre palace continues to house about 1,000 people in some of the most desirable housing in Kano.

The palace grounds occupy the highest space in Kano. The entire palace complex is embraced by a wall of 20 to 30 feet high from the outside the height of which never exceeds more than 15 feet from the inside. Visitors at the turn of the twentieth century commented on the wall's durability, which was said to have been 15 feet thick in some places.The exterior wall, similar to the exteriors of the buildings inside the complex, is modestly decorated with shallow arched grooves traced in the mud plaster.

After entering through the confines of the outer wall of the palace complex, one is confronted on the same axis by the impressive and more recent Soron Gabjeje gateway. The graceful two-story height of the doorway of the gate is buttressed by two sturdy gatehouses
The Soron Gabjeje is the first court of the palace complex. The north gate of the Soron Gabjeje, which leads to the reception rooms, is much more modest. Entering through it into the next courtyard, one enters a passage that is flanked on the east by the royal audience chamber. At the end of this passageway is yet another gateway, the Soron Giwa, which leads into a private royal courtyard.



Practically the entire ceiling and walls are decorated with grooved patterns and bold paint. The ceiling, the beams and the floor are stained a deep black by the varnish from a locust bean shell. The walls are plastered with a mixture that includes mica, giving the walls a silvery sheen. The palace undergoes constant restoration and has been re-plastered multiple times throughout the centuries.

The arches and the ceiling panels in between are decorated with brightly painted sculpturally molded abstract designs. The abstract designs are coupled with more figural features, including a picture of an ablution jug.

BENIN CITY

Benin City is the capital of Edo state, one of the 36 states of Nigeria. The city is one of the ancient cities of the world known for its craftsmanship. In fact, when the British invaded the old Benin kingdom in 1897, a key reason was the artifacts of Ivory, bronze and iron.

Benin City is no longer that ancient city.

Today the old "Benin Kingdom" is a modern city with all the hustle and bustle of city life. As the pictures on this page show, Benin has indeed moved forward.

The mud houses that characterized the old Benin Kingdom is all gone. They have been replaced with beautiful architecture, good network of roads, a bustling commercial centre, and all the bells and whistles of city life.

The King’s Square Benin City, popularly known and called (Ring Road) because of the ‘ring’ architecture of the round-about which circles the National Museums and Monument Benin City is a major tourist site in benin city. The King's Square is so busy and full of activities of all shades and it is not surprising.

The King’s Square is the terminal point for all commercial buses plying the seven major roads. One can then understand the hectic nature of both human and vehicular traffic activities in and around that architecturally strategized location for which the King’s Square owes its fame and it is one of the qualities that makes Benin City a unique attraction.
